Telephone Appointments
Telephone
appointments are.....
Once
you have filled out the intake form
for an appointment, and we have settled on a date, I will provide
you with the telephone number at which to reach me, for the session.
Part of the cost of doing telephone counselling requires that you
also pay for any long distance charges.
To
prepare for a telephone session I suggest that you begin to think
of the issue to be worked on either a day or two in advance. Any
questions or important details you want to discuss can be recorded,
to ensure that you don't forget to bring them up. I also suggest
that you make arrangements to have some privacy during the call,
that you are comfortable, that you have a glass of water near by
as well as some paper and a pen. I often give suggestions of homework
to be completed after a session.
Homework
is not like school homework, because it is not going to be "taken
up" or "checked". Rather homework is suggestions
of topics to think about after the session and in between sessions.
This homework allows you to continue to work on the issue at your
own pace, allowing you to continue the momentum and to make progress.
A common example of homework is journaling. Often ideas or thoughts
that pop into our mind during a session or after a session can be
lost. It is my experience that if these thoughts are recorded, they
provide more insight into what it is you are working on.

Costs
Counselling is not covered by OHIP, but some company benefit programs
do cover the costs of the sessions. A list of Insurance providers who cover the cost of therapy sessions is provided below.
My
fee is $100 per hour. There is some possibility of a sliding fee
scale, dependant on financial ability and the number of people paying
the full session price. When I have people paying the full price,
this allows me the flexibility to lower my price, so that others
who do not have benefits can also access counselling.
Fees
are due at the end of the session. I accept cash, cheque or you
can use your credit card to pay for your therapy session using
PayPal, which is a secure
online payment processor. When using PayPal, please enter the agreed
upon amount of the payment in the box below and click on the PayPal
button. When using PayPal for in-person counselling, payment must
be received prior to the session.
